Hi Anne

Not related but found the birth of Alexander and his parents.
If you look on Scotlands people you can buy credits of about £7
for 30 and it enables you to search for limited information with 1 credit or
look at the origianl certificate of either birth, death or marriage for 5 credits.

Hi Sandy,

Thanks for your quick response & info. - much appreciated!

I have a feeling that Elizabeth's mother's maiden name may be Dunlop as their daughter Margaret's middle name was Dunlop. I initially thought Alexander's mother may have been Dunlop.

Anne.

My double great grandfather, Robert Webster, was the oldest of five. He was born in Larbert in 1802 and had a sister, Betsy, born about 1808. He married a Margaret Dunlop in 1821 in Glasgow. She died at Gourock in 1836. Some of this seems to overlap your search. Betsy had three more brothers, namely John, Peter and William.

Hi adw,

I have had a look at what I have and it's quite possible that Elizabeth Webster may be the sister (Betsy) of your Robert.
As yet, I haven't looked up her death and of course the parent's names are not on the marriage record so the death cert. will be the next step. I have been busy with the Waugh side and haven't got round to it but it will be interesting to find out whether or not they are sister and brother.

I forgot to mention that the only contenders for parent's of Elizabeth on IGI are Robert Webster, & Elizabeth Smart which is looking good as they names feature in the names of Elizabeth's children but until I have the definite proof I will not be presumptious.

Regards,

Annie.
