Where is Baglan Higher on the 1911 census
« on: Tuesday 11 October 11 23:07 BST (UK) »
I have been looking for ages, for Baglan Higher and Michealston Higher, on the 1911 Census Returns, on Ancestry, but I haven't been able to find either parish. Can anyone help, please?

Hello there.
Both parishes  in West Glamorgan
Search on the website, Genuki Glamorgan for both parishes.
Michealston higher and lower can be found under Michealston -super -avon.
The Afan valley.
Baglan higher near the  Aberavon,  Neath area.

hope this helps I am not familiar with this area
Kindest regards

Thank you for your reply. However, in the list of Glamorgan's listed parishes on the 1911 Census Returns (they aren't indexed on Ancestry at the present time), there is no Michealstone Higher, Lower or Baglan Higher. I've gone through all the Glyncorrwg entries, and all the Llantwit Lower entries, thinking that either Baglan or Michaelston/s could have been there, but I have found nothing.

Hello Welsh Angel  :)

Baglan Higher came under Neath in 1911 (RD592 SD2 1)
Michaelston Higher came under Margam (RD592 SD1 23)

Kind Regards
Morgan

Mystery solved. I've had it confirmed by Ancestry that the 1911 census for Baglan Higher and Michaelstone isn't available yet, because they haven't received them. So, even though we are told that the 1911 Census and index for Wales is "complete", it's not entirely true.

Ah yes, that is a pain  ::)

However, at least you know where to find them on one of the other sites if you can't wait!

Best wishes
Morgan
