Rathmullan Cemetery Lookup HUSSEY, ANDERSON, HENDERSON, MORRISON
« on: Monday 17 October 11 00:56 BST (UK) »
If anyone can give ANY details of the Hussey family that lived in Rathmullan area at the beginning of the 20th century I'd be much obliged.

I know that Dudley Hussey fought in WWI as he is commemorated on a Roll of Honour in St. Columbs Church.  (His wife and his sister Ethel Maud are both visible in Ulster Covenant - ) And I know that his son Albert Edward Hussey was killed in action in WWII - but I know nothing else of what happened to the rest of the family.  (There is also one infant death recorded for the Milford area - Iris Hussey but no year is given in the online civil index)

I'm also interested in the fate of Dudley's in-laws the Anderson's and their associated Henderson/Morrisons (as seen in 1901/1911 census)

Many thanks,
Simon

Just to fill in a bit more detail for anyone reading this thread...

CWGC lists Albert Edward Hussey, age 28, killed 23 Sept.1944, "son of Dudley and Laura A. Hussey, of Rathmullan, Co. Donegal, Irish Republic."
http://www.cwgc.org/search/casualty_details.aspx?casualty=2033900

The 1911 Irish census lists 2 children (aged 5 and 7) named Dudley Hussey. 1901 census has one Dudley Hussey but born in England and living in Dublin with his mother-
www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Dublin/Clontarf_West/Annadale_Avenue/1271021
Neither census has anyone named Hussey in County Donegal.

PRONI Will Extracts lists no Husseys in Donegal.

The 1912 Ulster Covenant shows Ethel Maude Hussey and Mrs. D. Hussey of Rathmullen.

Which ones??

The Andersons with "Olive, Niece, Visitor"??
