Advice on location of Liverpool cemetery please
« on: Monday 24 October 11 20:49 BST (UK) »
I am looking for particular graves of Caves in Liverpool (those on the CWGC website).

Can anyone advise me re location of what is described as Liverpool County Borough cemetery. The burial is that of F.J. Cave a civilian killed in the bombing of the Rocket air-raid shelter in May 1941. I realise this may not be an individual burial.

Other Cave graves are at Anfield, which I know, and Toxteth Park, which I think is Smithdown Road.

I'd be grateful for any help with how to find Liverpool County Borough cemetery.

Many thanks.

www.cwgc.org website doesn't actually give a cemetery name it gives Liverpool, County Borough as the Reporting Authority. The shelter was called the Rocket Shelter and was at Broad Green. there is information about it here liverpoolremembrance.weebly.com/rocket-shelter.html

It's possible that he was buried in a particular cemetery at his family's request. You would need to check individual cemeteries to find out. Start with those where family burials are known to have taken place.
