« on: Thursday 27 October 11 19:51 BST (UK) »
Looking for information on my great great great grandparents, John McDonald b Antrim c 1806 and his wife Mary Duffy b Antrim c1817. They moved to Glasgow around 1855-57 and had eight children, 6 born in Antrim and two born in Glasgow.

Regards Gerry

To find Irish ancestors for such an early period you need to see if church records exist.

Have a look at Introduction to Irish Records and My Ancestor came from Ireland - where do I start?.

Scottish birth certificate usually list date and place of parents' marriage which might help.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
