Thanks for your comments.  Decided to put it on here because it is a brick wall and unfortunately this is not one of those quick fix ones, include P, Pat, Patk, Patrk and Mr with Murry, Mury, Murrey etc and alter his date of birth around and there are even more trillions of alternatives.  However, there are masters of the passenger lists , who have the unbelievable talents of finding some small clue which solves the mysteries.

Ever Hopeful.

Good luck but the passenger lists give so little information in 1890-1911 I wouldnt think theres a clue to find. Can you not find him arriving in NewYork you might get an address there.

Spent unknown number of hours from time to time browsing all passenger lists but so far nothing. Suspecting he may have gone via Canada to be honest, as the 2 sons did just that but the fact the Census says husband in America is why I posted here and not Canada. I know some passenger lists don't give to much information but someone might just turn up that one vital small clue. Not showing either on border crossings but then there were hundreds of places to cross the border where there are no records. Also if he crossed before 1895 then there were also no records taken anyway.  The inward passenger lists to the UK are not showing him either and I would have expected him to return when his wife died.  Lets see if anything develops.

Thank you for your thoughts.
