Old Village Pumps
« on: Monday 31 October 11 23:26 GMT (UK) »
Richard Williams runs a great website http://www.villagepumps.org.uk/ where he is trying to collect pictures and information on old Village Pumps all over the UK.

So far he has 40 logged for Pembrokeshire on this page - http://www.villagepumps.org.uk/pumpsPembs.htm

If anyone knows of any or can take any pictures please do so.  You can check to see if they are already recorded, and, if not, forward details direct to Richard.

ps - can anyone confirm whether the pump supposedly near Bosherston Church is still there - and if so - where??

Thanks for posting the link, it was interesting.  I remember staying in Brick Row, Llanfyrnach Pembs  as a girl in the late 40s early 50s and all the water for the houses came from a pump at the end of the row,  No running water in any of them, there were two buckets covered in cheesecloth kept in the pantry.

No gas or electric either! just  lamps and all the cooking done on the  coal kitchen range.  Delicious the food that came from there!
