In applying for my granddads war record who would be his next of kin
My Gran was still legally married to my Granddad although they did not live together since the war both grandparents have now passed. My Dad has also passed. Do I need to get an aunt or uncle to give consent or can I make a request  myself.

Hi

Next of kin would be the closest living relative to your grandfather so if any of his children are alive then they would be the closest and one of them should either apply for you or complete the part on the form giving you permission
