Improvements please on Pip

Hello,  this is my dear little grandfather b1889.  What have they got him dressed in,  has anyone seen clothing like this before,  maybe it was a curtain & they were not poor people.
I would love if it could be sharpened & anything else to improve it please.
If anyone was wanting to do so, a bit of colour would be fun too to have, thankyou.

Recycled Hippy,  Wow its beautiful in colour, I never thought it could be so lovely, its a terribly looking garment but the photo is much improved with colour.  The b & w is great too.
