"John Hamilton" Ballymena Angtrim
« on: Monday 07 November 11 18:44 GMT (UK) »
Hello, I'm looking for my ggrandfather, John Hamilton who was born in the 1830s? in Ballymena, County Antrim.  John married Jane Cook, also from Ireland in 1858, Erin Village, Wellington County, Ontario Canada.  On their marriage certificate John does not mention who his parents are.  On a picture I have, it mentions great aunt Margaret Hamilton, but her relationship to John is unknown.  John had the following children all born in Erin Twp.  the birth dates may not be correct:  Mary 1862 (Jane's mother's name was Mary); James 1862; John T. 1863; Charters  B. 1864; Bessie (Elizabeth) 1866; Kate (Katherine?) 1868;  Jane (Jennie) 1871; Florence 1873-1876. Yhank you

This part of the information looks as though it may have come from submitted details in I.G.I.? (assumes parents married year before birth of a particular child, husband 4 years older than wife)
"John and Mary were marr c1825 in Ballymena
John Hamilton (Snr) bc1801 in Ballymena
Mary Mullag bc1805 in Ballymena"
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

I'm Interested in the Hamilton Families from the Ballymena / Ahoghill Area.
Trying to find further information on Lavina Hamilton Wife of John Marshall and mother of Isabella Marshall (later Harrison). Isabella was born around 1843 in County antrim and married Robert Harrison of Ahoghill.
Cant find on further information on Isabellas parents. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Lavina would have been born in the 1820's and I thought there could possibly be a connection to the above John Hamilton.
Regards
Mark.
