« on: Monday 07 November 11 20:43 GMT (UK) »
I have connections to some Goldhanger Wades but they seem to originate in Braintree.

I have found the following Wades in the Goldhanger parish records which I thought may be of use to other researchers

Mary daughter of John Wade the younger and wife Ann buried 17th Aug 1624
Sarah daughter of John Wade the elder and Ellen his deceased wife was buried 20th March 1625
Alice wife of John Wade the elder was buried on 15th June 1627
Ann daughter of John Wade and Ellen (deceased) was buried 28th March 1632
John Wade widower and Elizabeth Marten? of this parish were married on 18th Nov 1632
Ann the wife of John Wade buried 29th Jan 1633
Thomas Wade and Elizabeth Boutwood? both of this parish married 5th Nov 1635
John Wade buried 28th Feb 1636
Elizabeth daughter of Thomas Wade buried 4th Aug 1637
John son of Thomas Wade and Elizabeth baptised 12th Nov 1638
John Grimes widower and Elizabeth Wade widow were married on 20th March 1649

I really would like to talk to you about this. I think the Grimes - Wade couple actually had two weddings. Shall we say I don't think they were exactly conformists! Have you ever heard of Ed. Howes. He kep a diary or 'commonplace book' in the 1640s (it's in the BL manuscripts section  Sloane MS 979 actually) - he mentions them. That's how I have found your comment here. I think he might even have married them outside the formal marriage arrangements.

I am not a nutter by the way, I have been studying these things for a while.
