Grave lookup Trealaw / Llethrddu cemetery
« on: Thursday 10 November 11 10:33 GMT (UK) »
Is anyone in a position to help me with a grave look up, please.  My grandfather William Evans was buried on October 10th, 1910 in Llethrddu / Trealaw cemetery burials: burial number 19870 in plot P3.

I doubt if there is a gravestone but if there is what I am after is any reference to his date of birth or next of kin.

He was killed in a mining accident and died in Porth hospital.

Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks in anticipation, Roger Evans

Hi Roger
Can`t help with the grave sorry. But checking Mining Accidents there was a William Evans injured 3rd October
1910 died 5th October 1910 could this be your grandfather?
I suppose his funeral could have been 10th October,
If it is I`ll dig further but there are so many William Evans
and a few deaths in 1910!!

Do you have a copy of the internment record ??? This shows you who reported the death, how old the deceased was, where he lived etc.

Thanks for the feedback.  The answer is "no" - I was unaware of such records (internment records).  Can you advise where I should go for the details?  Would it be the cemetery office?  I have the grave plot and number, thanks to a kind Rootschat member.  This may prove to provide the breakthrough I need.

There are internment records available for burials up until 1991 (I think) for cemeteries - you could contact Treorchy library via email give them the details and they will email the internment record to you - find details on Rhondda Cynon Taf website (will email you them off list )

I’m wondering if anyone can help me please, I’m trying to find the graves of my partners great grandparents, they are buried in Treallaw cemetery…..
George Buck 18/7/1871 died 3/8/1949 23 Wyndham St. Penygraig
Annie Blanche Norman Buck 27/10/1873 died 6/12/1951 in The Craig Hospital Penygraig
We are visiting the area soon to visit the site where his birth fathers ashes are scattered and would have liked to visit their grave. Thanks in advance for any information.
P.S. I don’t think there is a headstone.
