Is it just me with FTM2012 sync
« on: Friday 11 November 11 18:48 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

I have an on going issue with FTM2012 sync working and then not.  Now done it with 3 trees, and open ticket with tech at ancestry.

Is it just me or do other FTM2012 users have the same problem??

Cheers

I have had that error just once.
I resynchronised the file straight away and it disappeared.
I don't have my tree set up to sync automatically though, do you? (I just sync once at the end of a session or thereabouts.)
Have you tried seeing what happens if you turn off your anti-virus / firewall?
(Not permenantly, just while you try synchronising :) )
I do have a quick interent connection, maybe that helps.

Hi Braindead,

Thanks for the suggestions.  My connection is 1-2Mbps;  awaiting upgrade to BT infinity

I too sync'd at the end of a session.  First tree sync'd ~7 times.  Second tree twice and third tree just once before error. No matter how many times I tried the sync I got the same message, however I never thought to suspend the firewall.  I will try the tree again for the 4th time!

I only have one tree to synchronise, maybe that too has a bearing?

Do you have a program like CCleaner? If so, try using it to clear your cache and then try re-synchronising.

I should clarify that.

1 tree (~3000 names) loaded, sync'd, failed, link broken,
reloaded  [as advised by ancestry after a 1 hour talk to Utah]

Repeat 3 times

and here we are today 4th time tree now loaded.
