Slightly of with respect to dates, but I think this is our man:

Johan Petter, born 28/5-1829, baptised 31/5-1829 to parents worker Petter Blomberg ?Halstea? and wife Frederica Wilhelmina Carlqvist. The mother is aged 24 and they are living a place called "Folkelsegrund".

Hi Jan,
I have found a family tree that has a Frederica Wilhelmina Carlqvist b 10 Aug 1805 in Vate. The following is according to this tree - her father Johannes Carlqvist b 11 Jul 1774 Alsheda, Smaland d 1844 Backs, Vate - her mother Cajsa Lisa Fagerhult b 10 Jan 1783 Lilla Ambos, Vate d 1840 Backs, Vate. Her parents married 18 Feb 1800 Vate.
Frederica Wilhelmina married Jonas Petter Blomberg 25 Jun 1826 in Vaskunde. He was b 9 Aug 1806 Kviungs, Stenkumla and his father was Niclas Jonsson Blomberg and mother Sara Christina Persdotter
They had a son Johan Petter Blomberg b 28 May 1829 Vate but the tree has no information about a wife.

I wondered if this might fit with what you have found? Also, I have not worked out how to show umlauts etc but there is an umlaut on the a in Vate and Backs.

Hi Colin!

It looks promising, I have found the birth Aug 10, 1805, it is correct. Somewhat amusing, the mother's age is stated to be "20-25" & the minister has written "Cajsa Wilh.." first, but corrected it afterwards!

Hi again!

Widower Johan Carlqvist died aged 69y 6m on Jan 12, 1844. He was buried Jan 19, 1844. Cause of death; Lungsot. (pneumonia)

I've also found this family in the Household records for Danskeberg;

Peter Månssån, b Heda 1800
wife Brita Maja Jonsdotter, b Hagby 1790

Children:
Christina Fredrika 1824
Olof Magnus 1830
Carolina b 10/3-1833

One comment I can read: "Utfattiga", there is probably an English word for this?
(It means very, very poor)

Jan.

Hi Jan,

re Utfattiga - I am afraid that I can't speak any Swedish and being very very poor could be best translation. There is a word in English - destitute - but that means totally impoverished, lacking the means of subsistence. It really comes down to what the writer meant.
I see what you mean about the minister getting the name wrong and guessing at the age. Perhaps he had been celebrating a wee bit too much earlier!
I will try and find some more info to help with your research.
Colin

Yes, altough I am not Swedish to me Utfattiga means "on the brink of starvation"...

Did you understand the expression "Backstugasittare"?

http://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Backstugusittare

Loosely translated it means "someone who sits in a cottage in the ground", and tht's what it was, a cottage part dug out in the ground!

(Also for the very poorest)

It certainly appears that this family had a very hard life.

I have found something interesting - another marriage:
Jonas Peter Blomberg aged 29 married Hedvig Ulrica Carlqvist aged 27 on 08 Jan 1836 in Vate, Gotland.

I believe this is our man and that the bride is the sister of Fredrika Wilhelmina Carlqvist. This could indicate that Fredrika died sometime before 1836. I will look for children from both marriages to see if this fits.

It didn't take me more than a minute to find this last marriage during my lunch break!

They were both widowed,

Your info seems to fit, where have you picked it from?
