Tranent Massacre/Glen's Inn

Is the location in Tranent of Glen's Inn (around which much of the action took place) known?

Hi Hibee,

                it seems that Glen's Inn was at the hub of the problem, I wonder if that later became the local Meeting Place ( House ) in Tranent, I doubt if there was a street directory then. there was I know a Glen's Close.

Yes....Glen's Close was just along from Lady's Close, but I've not yet tracked down a street map showing either.

              I found a modern map with these place names some killed at the Massacre all but John Adam.

Moffat Walk.

Ness Place.

Brotherstone's Way

Kemps End.

Lawson's Way.

Laidlaw Gardens.

I am just new to site. I was interested in an older post you made in regards to the Young family. Unfortunately it looks like that thread is now closed. My Grandfather was James Young his parents were Archibald Young and Elizabeth Coutts. I have some information on the family tree and I am wondering if you can share some of your research.

                  Welcome to the huge family at RootsChat, good God another cousin Yippeeeee, I can give you the lot but the best way for you to see some of them is in the Address below thanks to Dave and Anita, Anita is another cousin of yours and she has been helping me for ages.

You have yet another cousin called Marge who's grandfather was William Young we are related through two brothers and a sister, more on Anita and Marge in private mails.
