Hi, I was wondering if someone could do me a massive favour and help me find out what happened to my granddad. The last record I have of him was in 1979 which is when he last had his residential home in Weedon, Northampton. He lost this residential home soon after. I have no trace of a name by Geoffrey Vernon Purcell other than his marriage (2x), birth, and his child birth, also his British phone book residential home.
I looked on the national archives Site and I can see that you can view names of people who have changed there names from 1901 to 2003 or something like that.
I tried looking in 192.com and cannot see any for him and I have tried death records. I could like to know what happened to him please.
I would be very great full if someone could take the time to have a look for me who is planning on going to the national archives. Or if there was any other way that I would be able to see the name he might have changed it too.
I have wrote several articals that come up on google for the search in ancestry. I have also tried looking at travellers records but have not succeeded with any luck.

Ps: the reason why I cannot look is because I live in Birmingham and would be a shame to go over there if someone could be kind enough to have a look for me.
It has been reported that this is a possible living person(b.1936?)
