Margaret Craig

There are 2 marriages of a Margaret Craig between 1881 and 1891 in Berwick.

The first is to a Joseph Sands Patterson in 1885 but if you then look in the 1891 census, Margaret Pattison was born in 1858 and although her brother James Craig is with the family his date of birth is given as 1856, so they are both too old for your family.

The second is to either Frederick Yarrow Watson or Henry Herbert Weddell in 1887. Again looking in the 1891 census, Margaret married Frederick Watson.

There is a POSSIBLE Samuel in 1901 in Scotland at Hawick - not far over the border and he is a Railway Ticket Collector, which might tie in with his occupation on the 1891 that groom found. This samuel which may not be yours is trannscribed as Samual age 30 and he is married to Betry B Craig, age 26, and 2 children, James 5 and Agnes 3. They were living at 8 Princess street Hawick.

The only English marriage on Free BMD is in Dec 1894 at Berwick where a James Craig married either a Mary Johnson or Agnes Johnston, so I'm not sure they would be yours- betty is often 'short'  for Elizabeth, but not necessarily. I do not have access to Scottish marriage records and they could have married there, if indeed that is your Samuel.
