I've found him buried in Florida. He is the cemetery at st Margaret Church in Hibernia (Jacksonville) Florida.

Very interesting find.
No connection but could not resist looking him up on census - 1861/1871/1881 listed as son of John Morrison the County Court Bailiff living at Tynemouth.
