« on: Saturday 26 November 11 23:18 GMT (UK) »
Could anyone help ,im looking for information for the parents of John Morse b c 1838 camrose/st Ismael/jordanston. I have looked up all the relevant census records and his birth place seems to differ in several of them as Camrose or jordanston??
I know from his marriage certificate in 1863  he was aged 25 years and was resident in the Hayscastle /Mathry area .His father is named as John Morse on the Marriage certificate but I cant seem to trace him, any ideas would be appreciated, thankyou.

hi,  there is a marriage for john Morse to Mary thomas  2nd quarter
1863  vol 11a page 1009 reg district haverfordwest.

which makes me think that the Morse family in the 1851 census could be yours
john Morse age 54 born 1797
Jane  wife          54
James  son       26
thomas  "         19
john       "        13
Charles    "        11
Edward    "         7

living at  60  shut street  haverfordwest

census piece 2478,folio 124
,page 12.

i don't know if you know west wales but camrose  haverfordwest  etc are all close by each other

if this is the family then john morse born 1797 was born bristol
died  reg district  haverfordwest 1st quarter 1867  age 70
vol 11a  page 519

It is possible Phebe Morse (nurse child) died 1869

wonder who the nurse children belonged to???

It is very difficult to decide which is the correct family

Firstly thankyou both for your interest. As you said it is quite a difficult one this...
The "Haverfordwest" family in shut street I did initally think it could have been them but John senior is listed in 1861 as a Chelsea pensioner and before that in an earlier census as an army sergeant , this just dosent seem to sit right with me as his occupation on the marriage cert of his son John in 1863 was a Labourer. The St Nicholas/camrose Morses look interesting ,will have to look into them...
