help brick wall Abraham walsh

Looking for the mother of Abraham walsh born 1875 oldham.I have found a Abraham walsh in the workhouse on the 1881 cenus,but with a different dob 1877,do you think this could be the same person,if so why did he end up in there ? if anyone could help with this please

Hello,

Lancashire BMD only has a birth for 1875 (mother Walsh) and 1881 only has the one you have in the workhouse so it does look as though it is the same one.
His birth certificate would give you his mother's name.

Just checked the full list of inmates in Oldham workhouse in 1881 on www.workhouses.org.uk and their were only two other people by the name of Walsh, both female and both probably too old to be Abraham's mother.

To answer your other question, from Heywood's reply, it looks as though he might have been illegitimate so that is probably why he has ended up in the workhouse.

Is this the same Abraham who marries Martha Cooper in Ossett Yorks,

if so does it name who the witnesses were to the marriage,

It is the same Abraham who married martha.The wittness is ada ramsden cant make out the other but it is ramsden

There is a baptism for an

 Abraham Rigleson Walsh born about 1878

Baptism 7th August 1878 at St Peter, Hunslet Moor, West Yorks.

Father Ben Walsh

Mother Mary Anne Walsh

There is an Abraham Walsh, born about 1876 in oldham living in Ossett in 1901 with his wife Martha

Have you found him in 1891?
