Trying to trace back Jacob Chambers born 1822 possibly Sweden. Changed his name to Chambers. Death certificate  in 1901 at Robe South Australia states father's name as George Wieber but is this correct or just the name given by the person at the time.  Other sources has mother as Johanna Brita Botelsdoter and father as Jacob Perrson of Visby Sweden. Married 18/4/1853 at Adelaide to Elizabeth Ann Lord. His naturalisation papers state him as a native of Stockholm Sweden aged 31 and now residing at Robe Town south Australia but has no date on it.  I cant seem to follow through with research without knowing what his original name was.  Cant find  on incoming passenger lists. One of his children was called Johanna so could be linked to Johanna Brita Botelsdoter

Hi mjschul,

The date is written twice on Jacob's naturalisation documents.  On page 2 is written "Approved Feby 16/56" (16 Feb 1856) and on page 3 "Given under my hand and the Public Seal of the Province, at Adelaide, the seventh day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty six."  He had resided in South Australia for five years, and is 33, not 31.

Debra  :)
