Uniform indentification

Can anyone identify this uniform please?  I think it could be around WW1 vintage, but not really sure.

Shoulder title had 5 and V
maybe 5th Volunteer Battalion....earlier than WW1 if it is.Do you have a possible name?

Thanks very much, Bob, that may help me to give this chap a name. The only other information I have is that the photo was taken in Edinburgh!

Thanks Ady, I only know that it is a family photo, possibly Fudge or Pearce.  I think there are rather a lot of them so it could be a bit of a challenge.
