James Read 1891 where is he
« on: Wednesday 07 December 11 12:55 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to find my ancestor James Read for the 1891 census. His wife and children aare staying with her parents in Bicester. James was born in weston on the green and in 1881 he is living with his mother in Wendlebury. He is not with her in 1891. In 1890 a child is born in Bicester, in 1892 one is born in Deveonport. They move to Derby by 1898. In Derby he is a Railway Drayman but I have no idea what he was doing in Devonport. I cannot find him anywhere in 1891.
In 1881 the surname is spelt Reede but it changes to Read after that for all the famil including hia mother. I don't have a clus where to look any suggestions would be gratefully received. I have no idea if he is still in Oxfordshire that is why I am trying this first before Devon.

In 1891, his wife Mary E and children James W and Elizabeth are with her parents, the Baughan family in Bicester.

I can't see James anywhere. Perhaps there is a naval connection. The birth certificate of Mary G E Read in Devonport may offer clues.
