Help please - William Wood c1811

Hi,

I am trying to find a baptism for William Wood born c1811 Wrockwardine Shropshire.

William's place of birth is taken from the 1851 census. William married Elizabeth Fletcher and from this marriage entry on freereg his father was John.

I do not know Shropshire at all but there is an entry on igi showing a William Wood baptised 15 Apr 1810 Wombridge. Having looked on the internet Wombridge seems to be relatively close to Wrockwardine. Is this likely to be my William or can any one find any other likely candidates?

Any assistance will be appreciated.

Hi Sandra.

 I have Found a William Wood living in Bratton Wrockwardine on the 1841 Census with 3 Siblings Samuel ,John, Susan and i assume Father John age 50yrs as they give no relationships on the 1841 census , on the 1851 census
William is married to Elizabeth occupation Wheelwright, Williams age differs on the two census one is 1817 & other is 1820 , on the 1851 census JOhn Wood
is still living on Bratton Wrockwardine this time with spouse Susannah ans sons Samuel & John.
the only problem i have i cannot find a marriage in Shropshire of a William Wood marrying a Elizabeth Fletcher but i did find a William Wood marring a
Elizabeth Wycherley in Shropshire in 1843.

Thank you for your reply. William Wood married Elizabeth Fletcher in Staffordshire - that is why you can not find the marriage -

The family were living in Willenhall in 1851 (William, Elizabeth and daughter Sarah).
