« on: Sunday 11 December 11 16:10 GMT (UK) »
Has  all the  1911  for  Essex  and London  been transcribed ?  as    I can't find Any of  my  husbands relatives  who  were in the West Ham/canning town area ! , ( i've  found  them  onFMP site   so  know they exist ,   but wanted to   put the  link   for 1911  on  my  Family Tree ) I've  tried    the  usual misspellings/   putting in  birth place/date  only   thing  put  to no  avail

I'm   rather new to posting  on here  , so hope this is  the correct place  for this  message

There is some discussion about place-name indexing being cocked .

Try searching on census piece numbers instead.

I think this is the latest Ancestry update - Essex doesn't seem to be on the list as being done yet

London has been transcribed, but not Essex.  So you may find a few West Hammers that have migrated into Poplar  :)

If you have the Reference for them you could perhaps browse to the right page

Thanks    all    for the replies  ,    have   tried   the suggestions  ,  but  no  luck ,   looks like I'll have to be  patient  and wait for Essex to be transcribed  !

I have have written to Ancestry about this . The first 3 families I put in the search box did not appear anywhere. I asked Ancestry why, when I had all 3 addresses etc'.
The reply was,  that it seems I have not been using the advanced  button, and blah, blah.blah

Tell me,  why indeed would  I need to do an advanced search, when I know the door numbers, streets, City, names of households, ages, and employments  ?????

She offered to help me trace the families if I sent them,  but,   I dont want anyone else to find them , I want to do it myself!! I have been finding my lot for some years now   ( with a little help from yourselves)    I even found many of mine in the Summary book, before the census came online. and also on the F.M.P site
I have said  for a long time that Ancestry have made the searches so much harder, probably to keep their memberships going!  I and many other 's prefer the old style search system..
It's so infuriating tho'        Rant over, Dolly
