It appears the family moved  back and forth from great yarmouth.   Just wonderding if anyone  has elizabeth godfrey and john gilbert both born around 1740 in thier family tree. I cant work out why they married in colechester they were norfolk people, can anyone suggest why a couple would marry in that area at that time ? Help !!

Hi

Where did you get the information that they were married in Colchester?

Strangely the page for Marriages and Banns for 1765 have both been torn out of the parish records for Hingham.

But the AT's record still exists, and shows that John and Elizabeth were married in Hingham 29 Jan 1765.
