John Goffe Parker was born in Walmer, 8th October 1900.

Thank you,

Thank you very much.  That is a great help. I am trying to track back the Parker line to when  George Parker married my great great grandmother's sister Susan Robins.  George had been a witness at Martha's marriage to Reuben Leader in 1836.
Cheers,
Narelle.

Hi I presume this is the 1851 Census for George/Susan/John:-

George Parker 41 occ Carpenter b Clavering, Essex
Susan 44 b Barking, Essex
John 11 b Ilford, Essex
Residing at Roding Cottages, High Street Roding Lane, Barking, Essex.
Census Ref HO107/1772/393/3

And the 1841 Census

George BARKER 30 occ Carpenter Not born in County

Susan 9
Ann 4
John 2
Samuel Osborn 30 Not born in County
Jane Osborn 20 Not born in County

A Christening that needs to be checked out!

George Parker 1st March 1809 Essex? Father Jonathan Mother Elizabeth
Or what looks to be same one:-

George Parker Birth 13th November 1808 Christening 7th March 1809 Epping Same parents.

I can't thank you enough.  You are helping to solve a frustrating family mystery.
A letter was written in Australia, on 14th July 1868, by Elizabeth Harris nee Leader, to her aunt Susan Parker in England.
In 1973, the letter was found, in Canada, among family papers, by John Goofe Parker.  He sent a transcript to Australia.
This has been particularly important to me as Elizabeth's sister, my great grandmother, was named Susan after her aunt Susan.  Whereas Elizabeth had been born in Essex, my great grandmother, was born aboard ship on the way to the colony of N.S.W.
