Hi Ian & welcome to RootsChat.

I've just looked at the marriage you mention 3 Sept 1742. The IGI has it at Yoxall; the newer version of FamilySearch has it listed as both Yoxall & Wombourn
https://www.familysearch.org/
It might be an idea to check out the separate sources- if the second entry is actually relating to the reading of banns then that would indicate where one party was living prior to the marriage.

Do you have anything to indicate Thomas's dates (eg age at death)?

Hi and welcome to Rootschat,

I had a look for you and noticed that the 5 children I found were christened
at Womborne and the wedding already mentioned does say both Womborne
and Yoxall.
I looked for a birth of Thomas but couldnt find one at either of these two villages.  There are three though around the right year
One is calleld Thomas Shepley christened 13th June 1720 at Bramshall
parents John and Elizabeth
Another Thomas Shyply christened 18th September 1811 parents
John and Isabel born Uttoxeter.
There is another Thomas Shepley christened 21st November 1714
at Bramshall, parents John and Elizabeth.
I think maybe this John probably died and they named another child
John in 1720.
As Thomas and Annes first child christened 21st September 1744
at Womborne was called John I would presume these three are
the potential parents of Thomas.
I did find a Thomas Shipley who died at Yoxall on 22nd February 1807
So just wondered if the Thomas born 1720 was probably the one.
Pity it doesnt show the ages.
p.s. Bramshall and Uttoxeter are less than 2 miles away from each other.

Thank you for the response, marriage details found on IGi, also 7 children, Charles, Millicent, Thomas, Jemmima, Joseph (my line), Anne and John all born between 1744 and 1760 Hamstall Ridware, all I can find on Thomas and Anne is there marriage record which you also have picked up on, no details on death or birth records or parents

Hi Ian

I found my information with a mixture of FamilySearch.org, An..try and Genuki.
Yoxall is 2.5 miles from Hamstall Ridgeware.  I didnnt see that name associated with the children at all it was definitely Womborne.
