COOPER of Hunton Bridge or Abbots Langley
« on: Sunday 25 December 11 01:00 GMT (UK) »
Merry Xmas everyone.

I wonder if someone can help me with a look-up from the Abbots Langley area parish records if they are available somewhere? I'm trying to establish the mother and any siblings of of a Reuben Cooper who was born at Hunton Bridge or Abbots Langley about 1819. I know his father was a John Cooper but have no other information. There are several John Coopers in Hertfordshire in the 1841 Census but I have no way of knowing which, if any, might be the right one as Reuben is not with his family on that night. Any advice/help much appreciated.

Best wishes

Merry Xmas!

I suspect that you already have this but HALS carries the marriage

Reuben Cooper of Northchurch
Maria Wingfield of Northchurch
Northchurch St Mary
18 Oct 1845

mirrored in A......y as

Reuben Cooper 27 / Maria Wingfield 24
Father                John Cooper
Spouse's Father   William Wingfield
Marriage Date:    18 Oct 1845
Marriage Place:    Berkhampstead, Hertfordshire, England

1851 census says he came from "Abbots Langley".
Where did the "Hunton Bridge" info come from?

I found your inquiry quite by accident and immediately became intrigued.

I've been researching my 'WINGFIELD' family in Berkhamstead and Northchurch for some time, not without enormous and great difficulties, However.......

My G.G.Grandfather was Matthew WINGFIELD, born in Norhchurch and I believe that one of his sisters was Maria and she married Reuben Cooper in 1845 - I have a copy of their original marriage details.

It would be good to hear from you on the subject.

Good Wishes.

 Melvyn Thomas WINGFIELD.

Welcome to RootsChat Pemble.   I wonder if this Cooper family is the family of Emily Cooper, born about 1855 in Abbots Langley.   See my post of 20 July.
