Hi,
Can anyone locate the 1851 and 1841 census household details for Joseph FOSTER b abt 1825 Auckland..possible daughter Ellen b abt 1842 Bishop Auckland.

Have you got Joseph in later censuses? Can you post details if you have as it is rather a common name and there's not much to go on.

Hi Nannawilk,

On reflection my request was a bit of a long shot , my apologies.
The only hard documentation I have for Joseph FOSTER is from the marriage certificate of his daughter Ellen to my gggf Richard HOLMES . Residence is Etherley Dene, Bishop Auckland. 1859 Occupation Pitman.

The 1851 and 1861 indexes show one  Joseph FOSTER aged 25 and 35 respectively  in the Auckland registration district. However that would make Joseph 17 years old at the date of Ellen's birth.
