Long Shot! But i will try
« on: Thursday 05 January 12 14:23 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to locate a family on the 1881 census.

I have found them on 1871(RG10; Piece: 5328; Folio: 18; Page: 29) and 1891(RG12; Piece: 4359; Folio 51; Page 16) census but cant find them on the 1881.

Family details

Keziah Davies b 1833 Cantref Breconshire Widow
Ann Davies b 1853 Rhymney Monmouthshire
Elizabeth Davies b 1862 Rhymney Monmouthshire
Osman Davies b 1865 Rhymney Monmouthshire
Keziah Davies b 1869 Rhymney Monmouthshire
Thomas b 1872 Rhymney Monmouthshire
Jasper b 1875 Rhymney Monmouthshire

The father David Davies b 1833 Sirhowy Monmouthshire has been located as having died in Jan 1881 so will not show on the 1881 census.

On 1871 and 1891 family are living in Rhymney Monmouthshire

Any help in locating this family on the 1881 census would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

Kevin

Hi Kevin

Using just an address search, I can't find any records at all for Rhymney or Bedwellty in 1881, so it's possible they are missing

Hi,
I have found the children of the family -Ann, Thomas, Mary Ann, Osman and my great grandmother Keziah plus others (some names transcribed wrongly) on the 1881 census staying in 66 Forge Street, Rhymney with their uncle Edward Morgan. There is no mention of the mother, also called Keziah. Perhaps the recent loss of her husband David is part of the reason why she was not with her children. The family were together again in 1891 in Moriah Street. I am intrigued to know where Keziah snr was in 1881. Hope this helps
