Abbreviations for Cumbria parishes
« on: Saturday 07 January 12 12:35 GMT (UK) »
Does anyone know if there is a standardised abbreviation list for the parishes in the Diocese of Carlisle or the County of Cumbria.  I am about to compile a county wide index and have started a three-letter abbreviation list i.e. BEW = Bewcastle, NIC = Nicholforest etc but I do not want to clash with what may be already accepted abbreviations.
Any help or suggestions would be most welcome.
Forster Cul, Harrison Cul, Wood Cul Yks, Castley Cul & Wes, Lorimer Cul and Perth,Innis Cul, Casson, Cul, Johnston,Cul & Nfk, Carruthers Cul, Ewart Cul, Jardine Cul & Dmf, Story Cul, ONeill Cul & NI, Davis Cul & Ldn,

I've never seen one. :)
Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days alive.
