Here is buried John Griffiths of Plas LLanfair who died on the 29th may in the year 1798  aged ? and also John Griffiths, his wife and/or son Mrs Griffiths Grifiths who died March 27th 1820.His age was 1 year 5 months. then a verse      Ioan was the baby of my life
              Lost Forever
              worst day ever???
              and very short was his life.

found an online translation thing and the word eiwyr turns out to be grandson ,
 so to me it now reads the same as yours but with and also john griffiths his grandson son of griffith griffiths

does that make sense

the date for his death looks more like 1826 than 1820 ,as i have now found a record for  the christening/baptism for the grandson ( dec 1824 ) which would tie in with the 15 months of his young age

Very minor point!

"Eiwyr" is two words "ei wyr". You are correct - it translates as "his grandson".

"Ei wyres" would be "his granddaughter".

I'm also interested in this grave and took some photos of it last summer. The missing age for John Griffiths (grandfather) is 45 and your translation is correct, the other person buried here is John Griffiths, his grandson, the son of Griffith Griffiths, who died 27th March 1826, a year and 5 months old.
