Stephen and Zachariah Twell Pinchbeck/Moulton b.1819/20
« on: Wednesday 11 January 12 12:57 GMT (UK) »
Stephen Twell was baptized with Zechariah (spellings vary) Twell on 15th Sept. 1833 at Pinchbeck, parents were William (weaver) and Frances Twell.  Zechariah (farmer) is my gr. gr. grandfather. In the England census's he appears throughout from 1841 to 1901 though at times his surname has been transcribed incorrectly.  I cannot find Stephen at all apart from this baptism entry and on other trees online. It is possible they were twins?  The other children of William and Frances were baptised within their birth year so why were these two boys age 13?  Does anyone have any further knowledge of this Twell line and family of Pinchbeck and Moulton? Thankyou.

William (weaver) and Frances Twell (nee Greetham) married December 29th 1800

Your posting interests me, but I am not going to be too helpful...apologies for that!
Do you know who were the parents of your William (d1842?) & Frances Twell (nee Greetham 1777-1867)?
The Twell family were to be found living in Pinchbeck since the 17th century, others in nearby Gosberton & Spalding. Greethams were to be found living in Gedney, Crowland & Gosberton, they were linked with the Inkley family.
Thomas (born Moulton) & Ann Coy (born Whaplode -nee Suell) Woolsthorpe named a son "Twell" - born and died in December 1750? Why?
John Greetham witnessed the will of Thomas Coy (grandson of above)!

The parents of William Twell, christened 16th August 1776, Pinchbeck and buried 3rd August 1826 at Pinchbeck  were: William Twell, chr. 21/29th September 1740 Pinchbeck and buried 1st May 1810, a labourer at Pinchbeck. His wife was Ann Langton, chr. 16th January 1756 Pinchbeck and buried 22nd December 1819 at Pinchbeck.  They  married 26th May 1775 at Pinchbeck.
Frances Twelves was christened 8th June 1778 at Gosberton.  She married William Greetham on 6th June 1797 at Kirton in Holland and they had one son.  She was then widowed and married William Twell in 1800.  She died 19th August 1867 and in the 1861 census is living with her daughter, Frances and her husband in Pinchbeck.  Frances's status is as a widow in 1851 and 1861 and it would appear she is living alone in the 1841 census.
I wonder if the John Greetham, who witnessed the Will, was this same son of her first marriage? I followed the families through the Parish Registers on Lincstothepast.

Greetham family of Gosberton linked to the Inkley family via this Gosberton marriage of July 22nd 1879:
Edward Barnes Inkley s of William & Rebecca Inkley (nee Barnes)
Jane Greetham d of John & Susanna Greetham (nee Banister/Bannister)
By 1898 they had adopted a girl child from Sheffield; Pamela/Pamelia Ellen Oldfield
The family emigrated to Salt Lake City, Utah. Inkley parents & some siblings emigrated too.
