Marriage 1781 Shillington

Hello - I've found reference in a public tree on Ancestry to a marriage of James Bentman and Susannah Sheffield at Shillington on 11 Oct 1781.  FamilySearch doesn't seem to have it - I had thought FamilySearch had virtually all the Bedfordshire marriages.  Can anyone confirm whether such a marriage is recorded at Shillington please?

There's an IGI entry for a marriage on 11 Oct 1781 at Shillington between James Benteman and Susann Sheffield, but it's a member submission. I understand that a few years ago the LDS started a clean up of the IGI be removing extracted entries where there was an identical member submission. The logic escapes me.

But you're right that you need confirmation that the entry is real, and not one of the flights of fancy member submissions

Thanks David - now you say that I've found it on the old version of FamilySearch as a submitted entry on the IGI - but it doesn't seem to come up on the new site.  As you say, there seems to be little logic in their deleting extracted entries - it's the submitted ones that need to have the health warning.

Hopefully someone might have the Shillington transcript...

Looked this morning in Bedford library; the 11 Oct 1781 marriage is in the Shillington PR

Thank you very much John - very kind of you to look that up for me.  I'm also delighted that it specifies Hexton - that was one of the few parishes of North Hertfordshire I didn't have a connection with!
