Hi

I was wondering if SKS could tell me where this place is, 1841 census saying  William Beattie was residing here.

Appreciate any help.

It looks like Skinburness to me, but as gnu says, we need to have the reference, please.

There is a William Beattie aged 65 + family living at Skinburness - is that the one?

Many thanks for the quick replies,   My great grandfather was William Beattie aged 28 on the 1861 Census  showing the same place of birth.

Just trying to find William Beattie grandparents,  William Beattie was married in 1855 to Mary Jane Coulthard and marriage certificate  shows his father as John Beattie.

I am also  trying to find William's mother.

I thought it looked like a y near the end of the place of birth.
