Joseph Hien/Hines from Germany

Hi I have been researching my family history for a while now but can not seem to find anything about my great great great grandfather before he came to the UK.

I have managed to find out a bit about him after he got here which is:

D.OB - 1821 in Germany
Fathers Name: Christian Hien

He married Mary Ann Silver (D.OB - 20 Feb 1831) in 1854 Whitechapel, Middlesex, England once married the name changed from Hien to Hines
They had 4 Children
Joseph Hines - 1855
John Joseph Hines - 1860
Mary Ann Elizabeth Hines - 20 Aug 1866
Frederick Hines - 1868

I was just wondering if anyone else is connected to them in any way as i would really like to find out more if possible as my search is proving to be useless.
