immigration from Sweden
« on: Monday 16 January 12 18:23 GMT (UK) »
Hi all,

I have just discovered a Swedish connection in my family tree.  Does anyone know if Immigration records exist for passages from Sweden to the UK?  I have very little information so anything would be a help.

His name was Lars Larsson (don't know how common that is going to be!) And he was born in Sweden in 1835.  He was a waterman and a dockboat man when he arrived in Cardiff and spent the rest of his days in Cardiff.

Any info would be really appreciated.

Thanks

Amie

Another Sweden-topic worth looking at:

Rootschatter cmg414 got quite a lot out of Familysearch, & as I may see the clue Hedvig Parish, Norrkoping was
the breakthrough regarding picking original details out of ArkivDigital!

Your challenge is however a very common name, you will have to provide DOB, parish etc. quite accurately to get started....

Hopefully this is the right baptism,

Twins Lars and Mårten!

The comment under I think reads: "Husmand N10 Gisløf" (="Cottager number 10 Gisløf")
