1841 lookup please
« on: Sunday 22 January 12 05:23 GMT (UK) »
Hello,

Following on from my previous posting http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,571998.0.html

I have now established that Edwin Pasmore was the son of Ann Pasmore b1822 Cheriton Bishop Devon, father unknown.  Ann was not residing with her parents at Gribbles Cottage Cheriton Bishop 1841 Census ref HO107/262/9/13, and and I am hoping that the following entry may be her .

Ann Pasmore    abt 1823    Devon, England    city, Devon

Would be appreciative of a lookup please and household members. Hoping one may be the father :)

Many thanks
E

The Ann born 1823 was living with her mother Jane in Newton St Cyres. However, as ages were rounded down to the nearest 5 years for anyone over the age of 15 in 1841, I think this might be her:
Hole Farm, Cheriton Bishop HO107/262/15, folio 7, pages 8-9
John GARWYN 55 Y
Joseph GARWYN 45 Y
Ann GRIFFIN 55 N
John CASSLEY 15 Y
William CASSLEY 13 Y
George PALMER 12 Y
George WOLLACOTT 20 Y
Ann PASSMORE 15 Y
(Y means born in county, N means born outside county)

Hello DOB7

Sorry for my late reply, had to unexpectedly go out for the night.

Yes I agree it looks like my Ann, same district etc.  This family did not venture far :). Not sure if 1841 lists their profession. Any chance you could get back to me if it does.

Many thanks for all your help

She was shown as F. S. which stands for female servant. The GARWYNs were farmers.
