Carleton of Lisburn or Blaris
« on: Tuesday 24 January 12 13:26 GMT (UK) »
I wonder whether anyone has a tree of the ancestors and descendants of Cornelius Carleton of Lisburn who d. 1818, or of any other Carletons in Lisburn or Blaris.  There seem to have been several cousin marriages, and I'm confused as to where everyone fits in.
Bagwell of Kilmore & Lisronagh, Co. Tipperary;  Beatty from Enniskillen;  Brown from Preston, Lancs.;  Burke of Ballydugan, Co. Galway;  Casement in the IoM and Co. Antrim;  Davison of Knockboy, Broughshane;  Frobisher;  Guillemard;  Harrison in Co. Antrim and Dublin;  Jones around Burton Pedwardine, Lincs.;  Lindesay of Loughry;  Newcomen of Camlagh, Co. Roscommon;  Shield;  Watson from Kidderminster;  Wilkinson from Leeds

Thanks, kingskerswell.

Unfortunately most of them a bit late for me; anyway, I couldn't see any who matched the names and/or dates I have.

Hi Wee Hughie

My Galway ancestor Robert Wood Carleton was the son of Thomas Carleton 1796 - 1858, a farmer of Lisburn and Eliza Jane.

Thomas was the son of William Carleton 1774 - 1837 also of Lisburn. I do not know where either Thomas or William were born.

Do you or anybody else have any info on this family?

Thank you, hallmark.  It looks very involved.
