Thomas Eckford, Eccles c.1815

I am looking for any information on the birth and parents of my ancestor Thomas Eckford, born c. 1815/6 in Eccles?  He married Mary Wilson who was born in Galashiels on 1 May 1816.  Their daughter Mary Eckford was born in St Boswells round 1850, although I can't find her birth cert either.

If you are looking for his parentage - he was still alive in 1891 so you could look for his death on Scotlands People as his death cert will give his parents names and mothers maiden name

He was living in Leith South - Midlothian in 1891

Their daughter Mary Eckford was born in St Boswells round 1850, although I can't find her birth cert either.

1861 census shows her as aged 9 and b Bowden, Roxburghshire
1851 has her as 9mths old and b St Boswells

Thanks Carole for suggestions.  I have found Thos' death cert in Leith, 7 Feb 1894, and hence his parents John Eckford and Alison Cairns.

Specifically now I am trying to find Thomas and Mar's birth certs, but the trail seems to be running cold.

Neither Thomas nor Mary will have an actual birth cert as they were both born before 1855
