Charlotte White SIBLEY

I am seareching for the parents of Charlotte White Sibley, born/baptised 14 January 1816 in Snitterby. Lincolnshire. On Family Search and the Waddingham Baptisimal records, her mother is shown as Elizabeth with no father shown.

I believe she is probably the sister of my wife's Gr. Gr. Grandfather, George Sibley, born/baptised 19 September 1813, Snitterby, Lincolnshire, and also shown the same mother in the Waddingham records. The middle name of White, maybe an indication of the mothers surname.

When George married in 1841, his father was shown as William, Farmer. I have searched for more Sibleys in the Lincolnshire County without much success. I did however find a William & Elizabeth Sibley buried in St. Alkmond, Blyborough, Lincolnshire. William was 69 when he died in 1826, and Elizabeth was 87 in 1849. However I don't think they are the parents as Elizabeth would have been 51n when George was born, and who knows, they could have been siblings. There is also a chance that the parents didn't actually grow up and live in the Lincolshire area, but from a surrounding county.

Can anyone help.

Have you tried a general search for men in Snitterby with the surname White? There were only 183 inhabitants of Snitterby in 1801. Of course the father may have come from a nearby village, and perhaps Charlotte and George may even have different fathers? Have you checked for other children born to 'Elizabeth'? Did Elizabeth eventually marry?

George giving his fahter's name as William when he married may not be truthful, but more respectable in that situation than saying "unknown". 

Some people recommend bastardy records (though I have no experience with them myself), as Elizabeth may be seeking support from the father? There may be other records related to any financial assistance Elizabeth claimed?

I will leave it to the experts to advise you further.

A Elizabeth SIBLEY was Christened 13 Jan 1793, Harworth, Nottinghamshire
to WILLIAM/ELIZABETH

Now as far as I know both of these places Bawtry/Haworth are on the Yorks Border???

1861 Elizabeth says she is born c 1793, Bawtry, Yorkshire.

Now an Elizabeth SIBLEY Married Charles FILLINGHAM, 22 July 1818, Holy Trinity, Kingston Upon Hull, Yorkshire.

And a Charles FILLINGHAM was Buried 04 September 1832, St Alkmund, Blyborough, Lincolnshire, Age 65, Abode Kirton.

I hope this all makes sense.
What I am trying to say is that I think Elizabeth Sibley/Fillingham/Little is the Mother of George Sibley 1813 and Charlotte Sibley 1816.

She is born c 1793 and Married Charles FILLINGHAM 1818 and has Ann/Jane. Charles dies and she remarries William LITTLE 1836

What a shame they didnt wait til late 1837 as the Marriage Cert would be interesting!

Daug Charlotte 1816 has EMMA 1838 and all the Cenus data I have posted seems to confirm waht I have found.

EDIT Anthony EVERETT seems to have Married Jane GODMOND, Dec 1825, Kingston Upon Hull, Yorks allthough by 1841 Census info they are both born in Lincs
Seem to be a lot of County crossing going on here.
