hi this is my grandfarther Robert Thomas Williams he served in ww1 and ww2 he died in 1946 this photo of him was taken from a motorcycle magazine dated 2nd november 1916 the caption says signal section in a french market square an interesting offical photo of the indian army corp signals

could anyone tell me any info on him the unit or where the photo was taken he is the one in the fore picture his cap badge looks more like a cross than the R E cap badge

The Au Bon Diable shop in your photo is a clothing shop, there is a clothing shop of this name in Toulouse. Perhaps something for you to look into.

hi kevin going off his death certificate he was born in 1883 but do not know where he died in rochdale lancs his first son was born in preston lancs his wife was born in preston lancs so could have been lancs but don't know
