....banner ad which appeared, unfortunately, on RootsChat. I've trimmed off the brand name to avoid embarrassing them.
Looking at ALSTON in south Ribble area, ALSTEAD and DONBAVAND/DUNBABIN etc. everywhere, HOWCROFT and MARSH in Bolton and Westhoughton, PICKERING in the Whitehaven area.

It's 'Ads By Google'.   They're ads which pop up and can relate to the content on the page, or your previous Google searches.  With so many words relating to genealogy on this site, the ads are usually for genealogy companies  :)
