Railway Tavern Penrith
« on: Sunday 12 February 12 18:01 GMT (UK) »
Annie Doran, born 1903 in Penrith, the only record I can find for her is 1911 census living with her parents, William Doran and Sarah Ann Doran, nee McGarr. Can anyone help in terms of whether she married or any other information please?
Thanks, Alison

Freebmd marriage coverage is to at least 1949 - have you checked for a marriage?

In the 1911 census in Penrith, her "step" siblings are listed; Edith Mason b: 1890 and John Mason b: 1896.
This implies that the mother Sarah was married twice. So her maiden name was not Mason...maybe?

There are two marriages recorded for Sarah.  Expect you already have them; (Sarah Mcgarr 1876 to Richard & Sarah Mason 1902 to William)

The request is to find a marriage for Annie not her parents - hence my reply

I have checked freebmd. There were a few records, none for penrith, so I thought I would ask here.

Hi,

I expect you have found marriages outside of Penrith for Annie Dorans. You should at least consider any you find elsewhere (i.e. Whitehaven or Carlise), bearing in mind that after the end of WW1 there were more movements of the population than prior to the war.  In my tree I have found that some daughters had to leave their villages to find eligible men.
