« on: Monday 13 February 12 16:29 GMT (UK) »
Has anyone ever went to look at the baptism records for St Finbarrs hospital?? I've a few possibles that could have been born and baptised there but I can't find anything on line about the hospital church or about baptism records for there..

Do you mean St Finbarr's as the actual hospital or in former guise as workhouse etc?

Not sure what it was known as in 1933, I can't find a birth record for my mother in laws mother, and talking to her earlier she said she distinctly remembers when she had her kids in St finbarrs that her mother was telling the sister that they were the 3rd generation to be born in there even though we can't find a record for her birth, I've found a record for a sibling of my mother in laws mother born in 1929 and his death record 3 months later but nothing for this woman or her brother, so I thought maybe they were baptised there..

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong but I'd guess it was the County HOme then. Workhouses would have ended in the 1920s. If she's not in her home parish records so I'd try whatever parish St Finbarr's is in and the hospital itself. If the hospital has an FOI Officer he/she might be a good person to contact.

I'm working my way through churchs in the area because she lived close enough to the hospital anyway, the church her parents got married in and that her father was brought to for his funeral doesn't have a record of her baptism which I thought it would so I thought seeing as 2 family members had the same story of her being born there it might be worth checking...
I must look into FOI officer for there....
