Cummins Tipperary
« on: Thursday 16 February 12 15:45 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

I am trying to research my wifes family tree. It is difficult as her mother is very unsure of the dates, places and when the family came to England.

I am specifically trying to find out about Joseph Cummins, born c1885 (Son of John Joseph Cummins & Bridget Carty) and if he had any children.

If you can shed any light on this side of the family it would be great.

Many thanks

Tim

Welcome to rootschat, Tim.

Family Search has a birth for Ann Commins b 1878 with parents John C and Bridget Carty.

Did all the family come to England. Do you have them on any censuses?

HI, thanks!

Could be the same family I guess. Things were copied from original hand written docs so maybe?!

Not sure where any of them went to be honest. I'll have to get the mother in law to have a think and try and remember.

thanks

Tim

There is also a birth on Family search  for Patrick Cummins of the same parents 8 Feb 1880 Ballylinch Tipperary Waterford.
It is probable that the townland Ballylinch is the one  now spelled Ballylynch and in the Civil parish of Carrick which is in the Poor Law Union of Carrick-on-Suir. This would explain the reference to Tipperary and Waterford as Carrick is on the borders of Tipperary and Waterford.
