Bertie Colgan anyone?
« on: Sunday 19 February 12 18:11 GMT (UK) »
I have a Bertie Colgan (poss Colgan Crawshaw) in my tree who I think may have emigrated to Canada.  He was in Birmingham in 1911 but was actually born in Leamington in 1886.  I think he possibly died in Kent in 1934.

Any information gratefully received
Thanks

Why do you think he emigrated?

There is only one entry for his name on 1891/1901/1911 censuses

Medal Roll Index places him still in England during WW1

The 1934 death fits his age

There is a will mentioning a widow called Edith and a marriage in 1912 to Edith A Jones

Children born up to 1927 in England

Carole
It popped up in Ancestry - thought it was worth looking at - his family were all a bit adventurous.  I was assuming he came back.
