Births & Death Look Up

Can anyone help with looking up any births for Family of Benoni Forsyth & Maud Holbrook.  The were married on 5th Oct 1899 in Manhattan, New York.  Benoni was born in 1863 in Morayshire.  Illegitimate son of Catherine Melven and James Forsyth.

Also, if anyone could find a death for either Benoni or Maud

I don't need info on marriage or parents as I have these already.

Could this be Maud  ??? Born England not Scotland as on the 1900 n ??? The 1920 Census Manhattan Assembly District 12, New York, New York shows Maud as Mother-In-Law

George P Cook 33 Head born Eng. Immigrated 1902.NA. Fireman. Rubber Factory.
Mary Cook 29 Wife. Immigrated 1911. NA
Frances M Cook 4 yrs 11 mths. Daughter. Born NY
Walter P Cook 10 months. Son. BOrn NY.
Maud M Forsyth 57 Mother-In-Law. Born Eng. Widowed. Immigrated 1893. AL.
Edward Smith 58 Lodger.

If the deaths occured in New York City - www.italiangen.org would be the site to check.  Cannot see anything for Benoni but there is a Maud Forsythe born 1862 on the link below. (www.italiangen.org)

It could be Maud.  Benoni was born in Scotland but I was unsure where Maud was born,   I will check the passenger lists as I have her parents names.  John Wyeth Holbrook and Elizabeth Moore,

New York Passenger List shows - B Forsyth. Born abt 1863 Elgin and aged 41 years. Single.  ??? Carpenter/ Citizen of USA. 
Port of Departure: Glasgow, Scotland to New York on the Anchoria, arriving 5th October 1904,
Home 273 W 38 St New York.

There is a Benoni Forsyth who was naturalized in New York on 25 Feb. 1903.  He was living at 310 W. 24th Street in New York City.  He was age 32 (which would be a bit off from your guy), born in the UK, & arrived in the US on 10 Apr. 1890.  His occupation was carpenter.

In the 1906 San Diego California city directory, there is a Benoni Forsyth who was a carpenter whose home was at 1041 State.  Also residing at that address was a Jane Forsyth.

The witness to the naturalization was Joshua M. Fraser, physician, of 273 W. 38 St., so that seems to match the home on the passenger list that Sandra found.

Benoni married Maud in 1899 in Manhattan, New York.  so wouldn't have been single in 1904 so looks like maybe not the same person.

He may have listed himself as single if he was divorced or they had separated.  I wouldn't rule that out based on that alone.

The Jane Forsyth who appears with Benoni Forsyth in the San Diego city directory appears to be in the 1910 Census as a single woman born in Scotland about 1865 and immigrated in 1906.  She appears in San Diego city directories through 1917, but Benoni only appears to be in 1906 & 1907 out of the ones I checked.

Any chance your guy had a relative that might fit that Jane?
