Hi, I'm looking for the Sage family in Wiltshire and would appreciate a census look-up please.  They are,
SAGE, Frederick b 1824 Melksham
   "   , Jane b 1825 Melksham
   "    , Eliza b 1852 Trowbridge
   "    , Emily b 1852 Trowbridge, twins
   "   , Frederick b 1854 Trowbridge

Found these in the 1871 Census, can't find Eliza's death rego, but would appreciate any other info.

Hi Karenlee, I have only found them in the 1871 Census.  I have Fred in the 1841 Census, but he wasn't married then.  I am looking for all the children. Thanks.

Thanks, I was wondering if you could also find Eliza's husband Sampson.  I believe that he was born in Somerset 1799. I can't believe that a family with such an easy name can be this hard to find.

Sampson moved about a bit. In 1841 he was in Lincoln. in 1851 Highworth (as above) in 1861 he was in Pembroke. This site will guide you into some records for Doulting where he was born http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/ian.sage/PR/pr_index_ae.html#D
An Eliza Sage died in q4 1853 in Bath. Vol 5c page 448

Thanks everyone for your help, but now I'm in a bit of a pickle.  I thought that the one staying with Frederick, was his mother-in-law Eliza Sage, but there she is at home, the other Eliza Sage, with her husband, in the second Census.  So now I must find out who the first Eliza is.  Oh the joys of genealogy.  I never used to drink alcohol before I started doing this.  Time for a glass of red, I think.

Hi Grannys,
1851 Census Eliza is down as a Visitor.
Although down as Mar she may be Widowed as her Occp is a Laundress.
She is more likely to be Fredericks Mother than Mother in Law.

I dont see how the other 1851 Census applys to this Family?
The 2 Eliza Sages have different DOB and POB.

Does Fredericks M/C have his Father as Sampson,  Architect/Surveyor?
